Yes! I have an ice cream maker and my hubby and I love it! We make ice cream about every week with it! No more store-bought ice cream for us!! It's cheaper to make ice cream this way and we can make ice cream just the way we want it to taste.

Most ice cream makers for home use make ice cream that's soft serve consistency when it comes out of the ice cream maker and then when you freeze it - it's like hard ice cream. The variety is nice.

I have a Cuisinart ice cream maker and like I said - it gets a lot of use! It's 2 years old and still going strong so I highly recommend it.

Anyway, I think you and your soon to be hubby will enjoy an ice cream maker. My hubby and I got the Cuisinart as a wedding gift and we're so glad we did!

I have one and it's a Cuisinart in pink, but the sad part is... I haven't even used it sorry I didn't really help. It appears to be a really good quality one. not one of those cheap ones.

I agree with most of the other comments, putting ready made soft cookies into the ice cream will not result in the vanilla cookie dough ice cream taste you are looking for. Using a raw cookie dough is a closer option, just read the ingredient label to see if they put real egg into the dough. I believe most would use a powder egg or none at all in the refrigerated or frozen pre-packaged varieties of cookie dough. Just experiment; it'll be fun and yummy too.

It works very well, but buying the ingredients to make it costs about 3 times more than just buying a pint of ice cream, and it's a slow process.

DQ® Egg-Free Products
The following items do not contain eggs:

    * DQ Vanilla & Chocolate Soft Serve
    * Arctic Rush™ Slush
    * Undecorated DQ Cakes
    * Dilly® Bars
    * StarKiss® Bars
    * DQ Fudge Bars and Vanilla Orange Bars

Dairy Queen® restaurants are very busy and cross contamination may occur between ingredients. Thus a 100% confidence level cannot be guaranteed. It is important that you ask your local Dairy Queen restaurant for an ingredient listing of the specific item in question and let them know of your special needs.

ENJOY THESE!!!!!

Sometimes soft-serve ice cream contains raw eggs. I don't think that DQ does though.
